In retrospect, Macao's preventive and recovery measures during the initial Covid-19 epidemic outbreak were effective. Advisable is to learn from its policies design and implementation to control virus spread. The research questions of this paper are twofold. First, what are the main measures implemented by Macao Special Administrative Region(SAR) to prevent the spread of Covid 19? And what are the effects of these governmental policies? Second, what strategies are proposed for Macao's tourism industry in the era of the post-Covid 19 Pandemic? The results showed that effective regulations helped this tourism city to prevent the spread of the contagious virus and achieve recovery of the tourism industry in a short time.

To explore the Macao residents' perceived risk of being infected by Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19), their preventing behaviors, and their psychological health status during the epidemic. Method: An online survey was conducted with 3,236 Macao residents from February 6 to 14, 2020. Results: The respondents were worried about being infected but had confidence in the outbreak control in Macao. Most of them were aware of the importance in taking prevention measures and actively followed the prevention guide suggested by the government. Such psychological symptoms as "sad" and "anxious" were relatively common among the respondents, but few of them felt "helpless". Those respondents who were more worried about the risk of being infected than others were more likely to have the prevention behaviors. Meanwhile, the more worried they were, the more likely they were to show psychological symptoms. Those who had "irrational panic-buying" behaviors were most likely to have psychological symptoms. Conclusion: Macao residents' psychological symptoms are associated with their prevention behaviors. Excessive worry and irrational behaviors affect residents' psychological health and their daily life. The worrying residents need to relax and adjust properly to maintain physical and psychological health.

Measures to prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus outbreak and fears by visitors themselves to travel between Greater China, have been described as some of the reasons for the large decrease in visitation numbers.
Ferry services between Macau and Hong Kong have also been reduced or suspended, almost 1,000 flights passing through the Macau International Airport have been canceled, while the frequency of shuttle buses in the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macau Bridge has been reduced.
Local authorities have already barred travel groups from Wuhan and Hubei province, with any resident from that region, or anyone who passed through them in the last 14 days having to show a health certificate certifying they have not been infected.
Currently, anyone entering Macau also has to fill a health questionnaire and undergo body temperature checks, with opening scheduled for some borders also reduced.
On Tuesday it was revealed that authorities in mainland China have stopped issuing individual travel visas (ITV) for visits to Macau and Hong Kong by mainland residents, effectively barring solo travel to the SARs, and with most VIP players usually recurring to this scheme to come to the city.
Analysts from Morningstar and Fitch Ratings also indicated to Macau News Agency (MNA) today that the coronavirus outbreak and respective travel restrictions imposed to contain it will likely have a significant but short-term impact on the local gaming sector results.
